  •  Overcoming Barriers to First-Year Success: Mindfulness for Gen-Z
March 8, 2020 2:00 pm at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY    (https://www.pratt.edu)
The transition from high-school to college is a difficult one for many first-year students. In this program, we will begin by exploring some characteristics broadly applicable to generation Z, and two common barriers to their academic success. The discussion is followed by an introduction to Mindfulness as presented to students during Inquiry 101, an integral course in the First Year Experience program at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. The workshop concludes with a 15-minute guided sitting meditation, and a gentle call to action.

  •  Summer Bliss Mini-Retreat
August 15, 2020 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA 
Enjoy the bliss of summer in the beautiful setting of Tower Hill Botanic Garden during this mini-retreat. Together with co-leader Julie Crantz, we will guide  you on an enriching sensory experience leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized. This retreat will feature a gentle, cooling yoga practice, a mindful garden ramble, music, expressive arts, and Yoga Nidra, a deeply restorative, healing form of meditative yoga. We will also take time to savor a sweet treat and celebrate this opportunity for connection and self-care.

  • Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku)
July 19, 2019  7:00 pm  at Fort Hill Forest and Lake trail, Thompson, CT. This is an age-old tradition of rambling through the forest to observe, sense, and listen to the beauty and wisdom held in the natural world.  This healing form of meditation examines our current pace of life and explores the powerful link between our well-being and elements that the forest offers. One-hour introductory ramble. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bug spray).  Register at the Creamery at Fort Hill Farms, call or email.  

  • Canvas Meditation 
July 24, 2019  7:00 pm at the Milltown Grille in North Grosvenordale Connecticut.  Two-hour "Sip and Paint" event led by local artist  and Thompson native, Genevieve Madison. Grab your friends and put the core foundations of mindfulness to work! Grab some friends, practice non-judgement, non-striving, letting go, patience, and a beginner's mind as you work (and laugh) your way toward a  masterpiece.  No experience is needed.  All art supplies provided. 
Cost: $35 per person. Seats are limited. Pre-registration is required.

July 26, 2019   7:00 pm at Fort Hill Farms, 260 Quaddick Rd. Thompson CT.  Free, one-hour introductory workshop, open to the public. It includes an overview of Mindfulness, its benefits, and an opportunity to learn simple yet powerful practices that can transform your life.  Q & A will be woven into the class, so bring all your meditation questions.  Please contact Fort Hill Farms to reserve a seat.

  • Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
August 3, 2019  10:00 - 11:00 am  as part of the New England Hemophilia Association's (NEHA) annual women's retreat at the Guest House, Cheshire, CT. In this experiential one-hour workshop, participants will be invited to explore and experience several different practices of the scientifically-supported, mind-body medicine program MBSR, developed at UMASS medical school. The workshop includes a brief overview of MBSR, including its applications and benefits relative to those with bleeding disorders and their caregivers.

  • Going with the Flow:  A fabulously creative Pour Art workshop.

  • ​Self-compassion through Mindfulness.
September 11, 2019  12:30 pm - 1:30 pm  at the Touchstone School, Litchfield, Connecticut.  
This one hour mashup of Mindfulness practices will focus on the liberation and renewal that exists in the present moment. It will be a time to consider the power of forgiveness, toward ourselves and others. 

  • ​An hour of Mindfulness.   January 15, 2020  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm  at the Touchstone School, Litchfield, Connecticut.  
This one hour respite for faculty will focus on core practices of mindfulness as we enjoy living in the space of each unfolding moment. It will be a time to slow, re-set, and recharge for those who give so much of themselves to others. 

  • ​Connect and Refresh: A Restorative Mini-Retreat.   February 1, 2020  9:30 am - 12:30 pm  at the Tower Hill Botanical Gardens, Boylston Massachusetts.  
Engage in a blissful, mind-body tune up amidst the beautiful setting of Tower Hill. Join us in a series of guided practices that will help restore a healthy balance.to your busy life.
